I think we thought TCU was very far, because conventional wisdom said they needed a top 13-class to even get in the CFP, but they escaped Michigan and made the natty.
Then they get rolled embarrassingly.
Georgia is uniquely good, like those USC teams of the early 2000s and Nebraska squads of the mid 90s.
Whatever we say about TCU, they were 60 min from a title. Impressive but obviously that final gap is enormous.
So let’s add that as our baseline, and then figure out how far NT is from being better than the Cincinnati squad that was in the playoff and go from there.
